God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza

November 30-December 8, 2018
Black Box Theatre, Second Floor Campus Center, CC 242
Directed by Mike Ricci

A playground fight between two eleven year old boys brings together their parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the evening progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their well-intentioned principles in tatters.
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, this play has been described as a streamlined anatomy of the human animal, a study in the tension between the civilized surface and the savage instinct that lurks within all of us.

Devised Theatre by Soren Olsen & NHCC Ensemble

February 22-March 2, 2019
Black Box Theatre, Second Floor Campus Center, CC 242
Directed by Soren Olsen

This world premiere production will be developed, staged and performed on the NHCC campus by the student cast and Director/Designer Soren Olsen. Diving into the underbelly of politics, technology, and spirituality, an ensemble of daring NHCC students will act as detectives in uncovering the shocking evils that lie behind the everyday facades of life. Is there racism in their cereal? Is the internet technically brainwashing? The performance will challenge the assumptions we were raised with in a performance that moves in every direction at once.

Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street: Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Hugh Wheeler

April 12-20, 2019
Mainstage production Fine Arts Center Theatre, FAC 178
Directed by Mike Ricci

Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this international sensation continues to surprise and shock audiences. When Sweeney Todd, a barber who has been unjustly imprisoned, returns to take revenge on the judge who sent him away, things go from bad to worse in this fanciful tale of bloodlust and vengeance gone seriously awry.
Universally praised as perhaps Sondheim's most defining work, Sweeney Todd has had numerous revivals around the world, and was made into a highly regarded Tim Burton film starring Johnny Deep as Sweeney.
