Ask a Librarian
Ask a Librarian is our online chat reference service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you access this service, you may be assisted by a North Hennepin librarian or by librarians from other institutions who have access to our online resources and can help with your questions regarding research articles and books, as well as library policies. You do not need to log-in to use the service, but if you do provide an email in the Contact Info field, then the North Hennepin librarian will have a means of following up with you if necessary.

How to Get Assistance
You can receive remote research assistance via email, phone, Zoom, or the Chat Reference. Please contact the librarian to set up appointments.
You can also receive assistance in person in the library.
To get direct assistance doing research for classes from the librarian, call or email Craig Larson (firstname.lastname@example.org). He is happy to set up appointments or answer questions as they arise, even outside of the posted hours, please let him know your availability and need.
For appointments, we will be using the Zoom platform to work with students.
What You Will Need
You will need a computer with a speaker and microphone capability (many people like to use a headset/microphone), and internet access.
How it Works
Just prior to the start of your tutoring session, make sure your computer is turned on and that your volume and recording levels are functioning. Have your NHCC email open. At the start of your appointment, your tutor will send you an email with a link inviting you to join them in their “meeting space” in the Zoom platform. Just double click the link and the platform will open up. Both you and the tutor will be able to share pages from your respective computers, as well as to speak with each other.
