6 Easy Steps to Attend NHCC
At any point in the application process, don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions. We’re always here to help!
Start by submitting your online application.
Have you previously applied to or attended NHCC?
- Fill out a Student Record Update Form instead of reapplying.
What you need

High school transcript or GED certificate if you graduated in last five years

Test scores, such as ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER test scores

Previous college transcripts (if applicable)
Important Dates
- Deadlines are for courses starting the first week of the semester. You can still apply for late-start courses after the application deadline.
- Fall Semester 2023 classes start August 21, 2023
Apply for financial aid to help pay for tuition, fees and books through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or MN Dream Act. Foundation scholarships are also available from February through May.

Important Dates
- FAFSA: Opens October 1st for the following academic year. Submit ASAP.
- Minnesota Dream Act: Due the 30th day of the team
- Foundation Scholarships: Open February 10 - May 14
The Testing Center provides information about course placement and requires a Course Placement Evaluation Form to be completed. Contact the Testing Center at 763-424-0928 or TestingCenter@nhcc.edu with questions about placement. If needed, you can sign up for an ACCUPLACER testing time through RegisterBlast.

Now that you’re accepted and ready to sign up for courses, learn more about registering, resources, and who can help. All new students are required to complete an Online Orientation. *(Orientation will open 24 hours after you have been accepted)

After completing Online Orientation, the Advising Center will manually review your test scores and placements/waivers. The Advising Center will then send you a link to your NHCC email with instructions on how to complete your Registration Session.
- Note: Your orientation hold will not be lifted to allow for registration until you meet with an Academic Advisor.

Students may pay for tuition and books using financial aid, cash, check, credit card, payment plan, or Veterans benefits. Students can get books and supplies through NHCC's Bookstore. You can also look up required books & materials for your courses at our online bookstore website.
