Bring your artistic vision to life in the Art and Design programs at NHCC. Create and exhibit your work while you prepare yourself for a career in studio arts or the visual media component of advertising, publishing, or corporate communications.
Choose from the following degrees and certificate:
- Graphic Design AS can be used either as preparation for entry-level positions in advertising or related industries, or students can choose to transfer to a baccalaureate or professional degree program for graphic design, illustration, or computer graphics.
- Art Transfer Pathway AFA prepare you to transfer to a four-year institution and continue your studies in a baccalaureate art program.
- Web Graphic Design and Programming and e-Commerce Certificate teaches the basic principles of design, web programming, and e-commerce. Credits can be applied toward an AS degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, or Business Computer Systems and Management.
Joseph Gazzuolo Art Gallery
The Joseph Gazzuolo Art Gallery hosts a wide variety of curated exhibitions throughout the year that feature the works of professional artists as well as works by NHCC students and juried exhibitions with works by local high school students.

- 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturdays
- 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Closed Sundays
The gallery is also open before, during, and after Department of Theater play performances and Department of Music concerts.
The gallery is closed on all days when the broader NHCC campus is closed. Please plan your visit with the NHCC calendar.

The Joseph Gazzuolo Gallery is located in the North Hennepin Community College Fine Arts Center. Officially, the gallery is FAC Room 135.
The NHCC Fine Arts Center is located at the intersection of 84th Ave. N. & W. Broadway Ave. in Brooklyn Park, MN. Free parking is available in the NHCC West Parking lot - also located at 84th Ave. N. and W. Broadway Ave.

All are welcome! Art History courses are an excellent elective opportunity for anyone in any major or pathway.
Ceramics at NHCC
NHCC's Ceramics classes are enrichment courses. Many students mention it's a relief from other classes and daily life. Anyone can take Ceramics! Actually, no prior experience with clay is necessary. Students seem to enjoy resourcing their inner creativity and they get to keep their work.
