Accessibility Statement

North Hennepin Community College is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive digital experience for students, employees, applicants and visitors, including people with disabilities.

We work to make our websites, digital documents, forms, videos and other digital resources accessible and usable by everyone.

Our Accessibility Standard

NHCC uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as its digital accessibility standard. These internationally recognized guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, learning and neurological disabilities.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review and improve our digital content, technology and processes as standards and technology evolve.

Report a Digital Accessibility Issue

If you experience difficulty accessing an NHCC website, form, document, video or other digital resource, please let us know. We will work with you to provide access to the information or service and address the accessibility barrier.

To report a digital accessibility issue, contact:

Email: AccessServices@nhcc.edu
Phone: 763-493-0555

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • The web address or name of the resource
  • A brief description of the problem
  • The device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if relevant
  • Your preferred way for us to contact you

You do not need to disclose a disability to report an accessibility issue.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within four business days.

Request an Accessible Format

If you need an NHCC document or other digital content in a different format, contact AccessServices@nhcc.edu.

Please identify the resource you need and, if possible, the format that would work best for you. Examples may include a tagged PDF, an accessible Word document, HTML, large print, captions, a transcript or another appropriate format.

Student Accommodations and Access Services

Digital accessibility and disability accommodations are related, but they are not the same service.

Students who need disability-related academic accommodations, including testing accommodations, assistive technology, alternative-format textbooks, ASL interpreting or CART services, should contact NHCC Access Services.

Our Ongoing Work

NHCC works to improve accessibility by:

  • Including accessibility in the design and development of websites and digital services
  • Creating more accessible documents, forms, multimedia and communications
  • Evaluating digital products and services for accessibility
  • Training employees who create or manage digital content
  • Reviewing reported barriers and prioritizing improvements
  • Providing accessible alternatives when a barrier cannot be removed immediately

Some digital content or third-party technology may not yet fully meet our accessibility standard. Reporting these barriers helps us identify priorities and improve access.
