One Price, One Program, Day-One Access
NHCC’s Books Now program levels the cost of course material expenses for all students and majors. The program fee for the 2026-2027 school year is $25 per credit per semester, and includes required course materials, such as courseware, eBooks, physical books, course packets, and art supply kits.

Students can anticipate the cost of materials each semester, regardless of major or courses. Billing is facilitated through the student’s eServices account, which provides the ability to purchase course materials using financial aid.

How It Works
Automatic Enrollment
NHCC students are automatically enrolled in NHCC Books Now upon course registration and will have access to materials on the first day of classes. There is no need to sign up. Your course materials will be charged to your account in eServices.
Opt Out
Students have the option to opt out or decline participation in NHCC Books Now before the deadline and purchase course materials on their own. The deadline to opt out is the Friday of the second week of the semester. For late start courses, the opt-out deadline is the Friday after the course starts.

If a student has physical books, they will need to pick them up at the bookstore. If a student needs their physical book(s) shipped to them, students will be responsible for the shipping fee.
Access your digital course materials by logging into D2L. Not sure how to log in? Watch this video. For physical materials, students need to come to the bookstore to pick up any physical textbooks/course materials/supplies required for class. Students will need their NHCC ID when picking up books/course materials/supplies.
NHCC Books Now charges will show up on your student account at the same time as tuition and fees.

After the course ends, students retain physical textbooks/course materials. Digital material access generally ends at the end of the semester. PSEO students do not retain access to any materials, including physical books.
When adding a course, digital material will automatically be added to a student's D2L account. For print material, students will need to go to the bookstore.
After a course is dropped and processed, students will no longer have access to digital material. Students with physical books/supplies will need to return them to the bookstore by the add/drop date. If books/supplies are not returned, students will be charged the full retail price for the items.
