Working on stage productions (on-stage or behind the scenes), offers opportunities in developing oral communication skills, time-management, and collaboration. These types of important “soft skills” are highly sought by employers. Moreover, participation in theater classes or productions also helps you to develop other important, transferrable soft skills such as: emotional intelligence, motivation & commitment, creative thinking & problem solving, independent thinking, initiative, resilience, discipline, and self-confidence. Whether you’re looking to be a future artist in the field of theater or searching for ways to strengthen your soft skills, come to our “theater explainer” where NHCC Theater Department faculty will help you learn about the AFA in Theater at NHCC and discuss early career opportunities and transferring to a four-year degree program. We’ll also describe opportunities to participate in our productions and lead backstage tours through our fascinating theater space.
