Northern Light is an undergraduate research journal, which publishes NHCC student research writing online. We are a student-run publication that provides NHCC students with the opportunity to experience the publishing process from the author and editor side. Each manuscript submitted is put through a blind, peer review process with a Faculty Advisor assisting the staff in their review. This situates Northern Light as a unique publication because we are one of the few student-run undergraduate research publications put forward by a community college.
Northern Light Journal publishes research papers from any field of study, though we emphasize the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Some of our past published manuscripts included primary research students had done (whether through surveys, experiments, etc.), while others complied secondary research into compelling and thought provoking arguments. We are always looking for NHCC student research papers, and welcome submissions through northernlight@nhcc.edu or our D2L page.
