Transfer College Fair FAQs

What happens at the Transfer College Fair?

The University Transfer Fair gives students a chance to meet and learn about colleges and universities. School representatives table at the fair and offer assistance and information to prospective transfer students. This is a great time to get information from schools and start narrowing down your transfer choices.

Who can attend?

The event is open to all NHCC students, faculty, and staff.

What should I bring?

You don’t need to bring anything; however, you may be collecting brochures, flyers, or business cards from college and university contacts, so a backpack or bag would be useful. You may also want to bring a notebook to take notes.

What if I don’t know where I want to transfer?

Don’t worry if you don’t know where you want to transfer. The University Transfer Fair can help start the process of finding the best school for you.

Can I show up at any time?

Yes, you can attend any time during the event, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. If you cannot make it or miss a chance to talk to a specific college or university, contact your NHCC academic advisor or TRIO advisor, and they can help connect you.

How do I prepare?

Attend the How to Prepare for a Fair workshop on April 1, 12:00-1:00 p.m. Zoom Meeting ID: 958 6696 0880.

What should I ask colleges/universities?

Here are some great questions to ask college and university representatives:

  • Do they have my major?
  • Will my credits transfer?
  • What is the best way to transfer into their school?
  • Where are you located?
  • How big is your school?
  • How much does it cost?
  • Do they offer scholarships?
  • What is campus life like?
