NHCC invites the community to its Spring Concert Series May 2 through May 7, 2025. Suggested admission is $10, but no one will be turned away. All events will also be livestreamed.

Vocal Ensembles, Friday, May 2, 7:30 p.m.

The NHCC Vocal Ensembles directed by Gary Ruschman presents “Streets of the City,” a choral concert exploring lives in cities and towns through history and across the globe featuring music by Paul Williams, Lauryn Hill, William Byrd, Christopher Tin, Kathryn Rose, and Twin Cities composers Catherine Dalton and Tim Takach. Poetry featured by Rod McKuen, NHCC faculty Haley Lasche, and Anoka Ramsey faculty Paige Riehl. Visit YouTube to view livestream.

Orchestra, Monday, May 5, 7:30 p.m.

The NHCC Orchestra directed by Judy Blomgren is excited to share a highly eclectic smorgasbord of musical performances that will tickle the ear of the listener, including a didgerdo, an instrument in one of the pieces, “Origins” by Brian Balmages. Other highlights this year will include long-time flute member Linda Nutz performing two movements of the Mozart Flute Concerto with the orchestra. We will conclude the program with an audience favorite, the music of Leonard Bernstein from his musical West Side Story. Visit YouTube to view livestream.

Jazz Ensemble, Tuesday, May 6, 7:30 p.m.

The NHCC Jazz Ensemble directed by David Mantini presents “Swinging for the Stars,” featuring Avri Blashak on vocals. Concert Band, Wednesday, May 7, 7:30 p.m.

NHCC Concert Band directed by David Mantini cordially invites you to a journey “From Here to There.” Come with us as we explore time and space, with stops along the way for Elsa’s Processional, A Walking Frog to finding what may be at The End of The Rainbow, culminating in Homeward Shores.
