Red Dress Day is a day to bring awareness and honor for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives. This is day is a reminder of the ongoing crisis of violence against Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives. We encourage folks to show their support by wearing RED! Where: Helling Hall Center for Business & Technology (CBT 195) unless otherwise noted)
Who can attend: All are welcome!
Event Schedule
- 12:30pm-12:45pm: Smudging Ceremony led by American Indian Student Leader in the NHCC Courtyard
- 12:45pm-12:50pm: Honor Song led by Battle River Drum group from Red Lake MN in CBT 195
- 1pm-2pm: Keynote Speaker, Ruth Buffalo in CBT 195
- 2pm-2:15pm: Closing Honor Song by Battle River Drum group from Red Lake MN in CBT 195
Followed by FREE FOOD catered from PowWow Grounds!
We honor all the indigenous people lost to us through violence and we strongly encourage folks to wear RED in solidarity!
