Green Jobs & Pathways Fair FAQs
Who can Attend?
Current NHCC students can attend, as well as community members and students thinking about attending NHCC in the future. The event is perfect for students who are interested in Outdoor and Environmental Leadership , Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Exercise Science, Health, Communications, Creative Writing, Sociology, and Human Services.
Do I have to register for the event?
No, registration for the event is not required. However, we encourage current students to preview the employers attending and available internships through Handshake (activate account using your STAR ID). Click ‘Join Event’, and sign in with your STAR ID and password. The Handshake app is a great career resource for students to find personalized internship and job matches, connect with employers, and keep track of applications. Take a second and download the app today! Also, if you’re planning to transfer at some point, we suggest checking the list of four-year universities attending to see if they offer any programs that match your interests!
What should I bring with me and what should I wear?
We recommend students bring a resume with them to the event. A resume workshop will be offered during the day, plus it’s nice to have a resume on hand, just in case you meet an employer and want to share a copy. For attire, given the outdoor/environmental focus of the fair, we encourage students to dress in neat and professional attire that fits the industry.
Can I get help with my resume before the event?
Yes, we invite you to connect with careerservices@nhcc.edu before the event to schedule an appointment if you would like extra time for a resume review. However, a resume workshop will also be available to students as a resource during our Green Jobs & Pathways Fair.
Whom can I contact if I have questions?
