Celebrate Being First!

Join us in honoring First Generation College Celebration Day that commemorates the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson (November 8th). This legislation opened doors to higher education by establishing federal financial aid and support programs like TRIO, designed to help students from limited-income backgrounds to access and succeed in college.

Today, countless students, professionals, and even celebrities proudly wear the title “first-generation”—a badge of resilience, determination, and achievement. These trailblazers have overcome unique challenges and continue to inspire future generations.

Let’s celebrate their stories, their successes, and the transformative power of education.
