Nick Donahue joined North Hennepin Community College in 2025, bringing more than a decade of experience in collegiate recreation. His journey began in 2011 as a student employee, and since then, he has worked at four institutions across the country, serving campuses with enrollments ranging from 1,500 to over 30,000 students. Over the years, Nick has worn just about every hat in Campus Recreation—covering fitness, intramurals, facility operations, events, and student leadership development.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Nick earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin–Superior and his master’s degree in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation from Emporia State University. He has also been active in the professional community, serving as Wisconsin State Director for the Wisconsin Intramural–Recreational Sports Association (WIRSA), helping to connect and support recreation professionals and students across the state.

Beyond campus recreation, Nick has coached track & field at the high school, NCAA Division III, and NCAA Division II levels—experiences that fuel his passion for motivating others, building confidence, and creating a strong sense of community.

Originally from Palm Desert, California, Nick and his wife are excited to call Minnesota home.
