Monte joins NHCC after having spent almost 11 years at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in various roles as Program Director of the TRIO McNair Scholars Program, Student Services Coordinator of their Veteran & Nontraditional Student Center (as part of their Department of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion), and oversight of Intramurals in Campus Recreation. Monte received his BS in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, his MS in Strategic Leadership from the University of Mary, and his EdD in Student Affairs Administration & Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His doctoral dissertation was a grounded theory study on how first-generation rural student veterans successfully navigate academic environments in higher education. Monte is passionate about working with and helping low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented (LIFGUR) students succeed in their academic endeavors. When Monte isn’t working, he loves spending time with his family as well as going to concerts, sporting events, and movies.
