Margaret LaFleur (she/her) has been teaching at North Hennepin Community College and other colleges in the Minnesota State system since 2015. She has lived, taught, and written on Minnesota’s prairie, California’s coast, and tucked into her basement office with a blanket across her lap (even in summer!).

At NHCC Margaret teaches mainly College Writing and Creative Writing. No matter which type of writing Margaret is teaching she encourages students to remember that writing is a process and the finished product is only part of the goal. Her favorite thing is to see a student’s mind and heart on the page and loves the work of helping a student get there.

When she is not teaching Margaret can be found writing, traveling, and hanging out at the park with her kids and husband. She also enjoys chatting with other writers and most of her stories and interviews can be found at margaretlafleur.com/writing
