Mansoureh Abavini has been an instructor in the Minnesota State system since 2018, teaching at North Hennepin, Normandale, and Hennepin Technical colleges. Prior to this, she taught for six years at Western Illinois University and Spoon River Community College in Illinois.
Mansoureh received her master’s degree in community-based health education from Western Illinois University; she also holds a master’s degree in microbiology from Azad University in Iran after having obtained her bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
The courses she has been teaching span health sciences and microbiology. Courses taught: (Community and Personal Health (Health Promotion), Drugs and Society, Nutrition, First Aid and CPR, Human Diseases, Epidemiology, Principal of Health Sciences, Mental Health, Women’s Health, Medical Terminology, Health Care in the USA, Healthy Sexuality, Environmental Health, Foundations and Theory in Health, and Microbiology.
