Nominees | Nominator Comment(s) |
Andrew LeMay | NHCC 2026-27 Nomination to the Board of Trustees The preparedness that Andrew puts together is organized and gives an example of what professionalism in this field could look like. He has students practice phlebotomy skills on mock arms and have them practicing precision and technique. With practicing on these mock arms, it helps student become more comfortable and confident. The textbook that is gen in this course is also useful to reference back and read to prepare for the board of certification test. |
Kaelie Farrah |
Professor Farrah incorporates a dynamic and engaging teaching style that makes writing class delightful and enjoyable. She provides many online resources as well as paper handouts which are greatly helpful in improving writing process. |
Deanna Forsman
|
Dr. Forsman frequently asks us to complete assignments that allow us to discuss with our peers. She wants us to discuss within our own perspectives while being open to others. She also has a section of questions throughout the semester openly asking if we feel safe and welcomed within the class. It is an open-door policy, which is reflective of her psychology background and historical Research |
Mark Larson |
His most important strategy is that his gentle demeanor and tolerance make the course material and difficult assignments appear easy, even though they are not. We held a joint celebration to mark the end of the semester, bringing along various foods from our respective home countries. Furthermore, I remain close friends with some of the people who were with us, in fact, we even continue to offer one another help and advice, thanks to the positive spirit we inspired in each other during Mark’s classes. |
Tamara Mans
|
Dr. Mans’ students inside and outside the classroom reflect the student body of the college. Every student regardless of their past experiences, current circumstances, and life outside the classroom in a frequently difficult cultural and social environment are met where they are because that is good enough for Dr. Mans. It is a start. Dr. Mans’ takes students as far as they are able to go at the college and prepares them for the next steps inside and outside academia. |
Ana Munro |
Ana takes extra time to make sure students understand material, expectations and how we can work through difficult things. she makes it a point to have conversations and connect with the people she meets. she opened so many doors for me in the world of connections that will help me be successful outside of school. |
| Amy Peterson | She creates a conducive and welcoming learning environment that fosters curiosity and active engagement. Her teaching approach encourages students to think critically and develop a genuine love of learning, both in the classroom and in clinical settings. |
| Jack Pope | Jack has demonstrated a level of expertise and a dedication to education that merits high honors. I have immense admiration for Jack Pope as both a computer scientist and an educator. This comment could apply to several other criteria for nomination including: service to the institution, commitment to standards for assessment, and the development of teaching strategies and materials. |
Danielle Twaroski
|
Professor Danielle went out of her way to make it fun for her students. Even though I'm back at school for a second career, it was right up my alley. She literally tried all different kinds of things from fun interactive games for studying where we would compete in teams IN LECTURE ha, loved that! We also did things where we were different parts of a cell and physically moved through actions to make it make sense. Having diagnosed ADHD, this helped me IMMENSELY to grasp what we were learning. |
