NHCC is delighted to showcase the work of fine artist and NHCC alumni, Scott Kutney this fall with his exhibit, Hidden Portraits, opening October 19 and continuing through November 21 in the Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery (FAC 135).
In his Hidden Portraits exhibition, Scott uses the word portraits in a broader definition that may include inanimate images to make a more personal connection for the viewer. He combines photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, where unplanned imagery may appear.

Scott Kutney: Hidden Portraits
Scott Kutney is a fine artist of the Oglala Lakota and Oneida people and a graduate of North Hennepin Community College's Graphic Design program. His work has been exhibited at the Two Rivers Gallery in the Minneapolis American Indian Center, and we are delighted to welcome him back to campus.
About the Exhibition
Hidden Portraits is an ongoing project that expands the idea of portraiture beyond people to include images and objects that create personal connections for viewers. Using photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, Scott creates visual stories inspired by the environments around him.
Guided by intuition and reflection, his work explores shared human experiences, including hardship, peace, growth, and connection. Through Hidden Portraits, Scott invites viewers to discover their own meaning within each piece.
We hope to see you there!
