Education

  • BS, North Dakota State University
  • MS, Minnesota State University, Mankato

I grew up in India and received a Bachelor’s degree from Delhi University. I immigrated to the US and earned another Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from North Dakota State Univ, Fargo, ND, and started my work experience in the Twin Cities as an IT contractor for 3M, Katun Corp and IBM Rochester, MN.  I was hired by IBM full-time and started doing software development. After spending five years in Rochester doing different programming projects, I transferred to Mankato to manage the IBM Test Lab at Mankato State University.  While working there, I earned a Master’s of Science degree in Computer Science.  Upon completion of my Master’s, I moved back to the Twin Cities and worked in IBM’s Global Services division with American Express and Ameriprise clients, as well as other out of state clients. While working, I also was an adjunct instructor at St. Paul College, Minneapolis Technical and Community College, and Metropolitan State University where I taught MS Access, Excel, Operating Systems, SQL, and Database Management System.

After working for more than 25 years at IBM, I left the company and took a break before joining Hennepin Technical College where I taught courses in Data Analysis, SQL, SQL Server Management, and web programming. After two years I took a break and then in January of 2020 I joined North Hennepin Community College. Here I teach Intro to Java, Object-Oriented Programing, and Intro to SQL courses.

In my leisure time, I like to read, go for walks, work out at the local health club, meditate, practice mindfulness, and get together with family and friends.

My philosophy is that every student can achieve their academic goals provided they work hard, have persistence, and don’t quit.
