Must be a Nursing major, enrolled in 6 credits or more, and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. An essay is required. Established by Duane Pins in honor of his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Pins, who devoted her life to training nurses and served as an instructor at NHCC from 1995 to 2014.

MN Workforce Development Scholarship-Health Sciences-Nursing-MLT
For Health Sciences Broad Field for Nursing Requirements, Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Technology majors. The Workforce Development Scholarship program will award each selected student $5,000 over two academic years as a means to incentivize students to enter industries where the state's skills gap is most pressing. Essays are required. Funded by the State of Minnesota.

Dr. Barbara J. Johnston Endowed Scholarship for Re-Entry Women
For current NHCC female students at least 28 years of age or older who are re-entering college after a period of absence. Must have earned at least 16 NHCC credits (1000 level or above) and be enrolled in 9 credits. Minimum GPA is 2.5. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. An essay and two letters of support are required, with one letter from faculty. Established in honor of Dr. Barbara J. Johnston, former NHCC Sociology faculty.
