General tuition and fee rates are set by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees each year. Having one of the lowest college tuition rates in the state, NHCC works hard to keep your education affordable!

*Per Credit Fee Descriptions:  

  •  Technology Fee - This fee is used to support student computer labs and other technology that relates to instruction.
  • Student Life Fee -This fee is recommended by the Student Life Committee, with the majority of members being students. These funds are used for student activities including but not limited to campus wide events, graduation, recreational activities, art, music, theater, student senate and student clubs and organizations.
  • Parking Fee - This fee pays for parking lot security and maintenance. This fee is charged up to 15 credits in Fall and Spring semesters, and 8 credits for Summer semester for classes held on campus.
  • MSCSA Fee - The Minnesota State College Student Association fee is determined by the Minnesota State College and University Board of Trustees. Funds are used by the MSCSA statewide, for activities representing students.
  • Student Heath Services Fee - The NHCC Student Senate voted during the 2014-2015 academic year to establish this fee to be used to provide high quality, free or low-cost, confidential health services on campus for students starting January 2016.  This is not a fee for health insurance.

Additional Fees:

  • Application Fee - One-time, non refundable application fee of $20.
  • Late Fees - Up to $50 per term for any past due balances.
  • Returned Check Fee - A $30 fee is assessed for each check payment returned to NHCC by the issuing bank.
  • Personal Property Fee - Fees for supplies, field trips, or replacement cost for lost or damaged college property. Personal Property Fees are listed within the Class Schedule.
  • Overdue Library Materials Fee - Assessed for overdue Library materials.
  • Senior Citizens - MN senior citizens (age 62 or older) registering on a "space available basis" (after the first day of the term) receive a reduced tuition rate of $20.00/credit. All other fees except the Student Life fee apply. MN senior citizens registering on or before the first day of the term are not eligible for the reduced tuition rate. MN senior citizens are not charged tuition when auditing a credit course or taking a noncredit course when space is available
