Orientation

Orientation is required of all new NHCC students prior to registration. Orientation provides information about academic programs, classes, registration, campus resources, student responsibilities, and more. It is important to complete orientation as soon as possible in order to register for classes!  Placement testing or a placement waiver must be completed before participating in orientation.

New Student Orientation

New student orientation is a two-step process. First, new students complete Online Orientation that includes brief quizzes that must be passed.  Next, new students attend an on-campus Registration Session that includes one-to-one academic advising and course registration assistance. To schedule your Registration Session, use the link provided by email to see the days and times available and schedule your appointment.  You can also schedule a session by contacting the Advising Center.

Transfer Student Orientation

  • Student must be in "good academic standing" at their prior college.
  • Student must have valid course placements in Reading and English (these can be either from testing, or waivers).
