Virtual Hours (effective September 8):

Monday: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.


North Hennepin Community College and Fairview Clinics have teamed up to make healthcare convenient and affordable to students and employees with an on-site healthcare clinic. NHCC students can receive care from a certified physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner with no out-of-pocket costs for minor illnesses, injuries and skin conditions. No appointment needed.

Dedicated care team

A certified physician assistant or nurse practitioner from Fairview Clinics will provide care three days a week. They are supported by the full care team at Fairview Clinics – Brooklyn Park. If you have a more serious health concern, you'll be referred to the appropriate provider or specialist.

Walk-in care

When you're ill or injured, just walk-in to the clinics for care. No appointment is needed. No insurance information is collected. Services include:

Minor Illnesses

  • Allergies
  • Cough or bronchitis
  • Ear pain or swimmer's ear
  • Minor colds
  • Nasal congestion
  • Pink eye and stye
  • Sinus pain or pressure
  • Upper respiratory discomforts
  • Urinary tract and bladder infections

Minor Injuries

  • Back pain
  • Blisters, bruises
  • Eye irritation
  • Insect stings/bites and tick bite
  • Minor burns
  • Minor wounds, blisters or cuts
  • Minor wound checks
  • Splinter removal
  • Sprains, strains and joint pain
  • Stitches or suture removal

Skin Conditions

  • Acne
  • Athlete's foot
  • Cold and canker sores
  • Eczema, or dry skin
  • Impetigo
  • Poison ivy or poison oak
  • Rashes, ringworm, scabies, shingles
  • Sunburn and swimmer's itch


  • Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td) for ages 10 years and up
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) for ages 10 years and up
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)

Lab Tests

  • Mononucleosis (mono)
  • Rapid Influenza (flu)
  • Strep tests
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Pregnancy urine tests

Other services

  • Birth control counseling
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Mantoux placement and reading (Required for admitted Nursing Students)

For conditions that require medication, your provider will send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
