Important Dates

Campus email and OneDrive is moving to Minnesota State‘s common email and OneDrive. Important dates to remember:

  • Feb 19  Open Forum/Q&A session 12 - 1pm, CC 244 
  • Feb 22  Open Forum/Q&A session 10 - 11am, CLA 135
  • Feb 26  Open Forum/Q&A session 12 - 1pm, CC 244
  • Feb 27  Open Forum/Q&A session 10 - 11am, ES 40
  • Feb 22 – Mar 3 – Do not modify OneDrive files. (Save files locally not back to OneDrive)
  • Mar 1 – 3 – Email will be offline for migration. (No mail access, no mail delivery)
  • Mar 4  Email and OneDrive back online. Begin logging into the System Office Single Tenant

Summary of the Project

Student and Employee email will become a part of the Minnesota State Office 365 system starting March 4. A summary of the project and a helpful Student Checklist are available below.

  • Students Email

    Student email will migrate into the Minnesota State Office 365 system March 2 – 3, 2019. Students will not be able to access email, OneDrive or other Office 365 services during the migration.

    Student login usernames for email, OneDrive, and other Office 365 services will change starting the morning of March 4, 2019. Students will add “@go.minnstate.edu” after their StarID, as follows:

      Sign In

    • Username = starid@go.minnstate.edu
    •  Password = your current StarID password

     

    Prior to the migration, starting at 12pm (noon) on Friday, February 22, students are advised not to upload new or update existing files located on their OneDrive.  Changes made during this time period may be lost during the migration.

    All current students as of March 1 will be assigned the student email address format of firstname.lastname@my.nhcc.edu or firstname.lastname.number@my.nhcc.edu (duplicate name).

     

    Student Checklist

    • Do not edit or add OneDrive documents from 12pm (noon) February 22 – 6am March 4. Files added or changes made after 12pm on February 25 may be permanently lost during the migration. Students may continue to access or print files on OneDrive, but should not add any new files or edit/update existing files. Students are recommended during this time to save files to their personal device or save files to a flash drive. 
    • No access to email or OneDrive from 6pm, March 1 – 6am, March 4. Students will not be able to login to Office 365 to access email, OneDrive or other Office 365 applications or services during the migration period.
    • All current students as of March 1 will be assigned the student email address format of “firstname.lastname.number@my.nhcc.edu”. Student who have forgotten their email address may look it up on the “Student Email” page of the College website, located at https://www.nhcc.edu/students/student-email
    • After the migration, students may login to Office 365 by using links provided on the College website or by going directly to “portal.office.com.
    • Students authenticate to Office 365 using new login credentials:
    • Username = starid@go.minnstate.edu
    • Password = your current StarID password
    • Reconfigure personal devices with the new login credentials. Students using Microsoft Outlook or other email software apps on smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktops to access student email will need to update the saved credentials with the new username.
    • Contact the IT Help Desk if with any issues or questions.
  • Employees Email
