Job Title  Front Desk Receptionist
Department   Counseling and Career Center
Job Description  
The Counseling & Career Center has an opening for a front desk receptionist. Applicants must have various availability.

The duties include:

  • Welcoming students, employers and visitors to the Career and Counseling Center, scheduling and checking in students for appointments.
  • Directing students/visitors to appropriate areas around campus.
  • Receiving phone inquiries and connecting students with appropriate staff person.
  • Making daily reminder calls and calling students to schedule appointments.
  • Assisting students in navigating counseling and career related resources.
  • Managing printed job postings/flyers and maintaining updated materials in the office.
  • Supporting front desk administrative assistant and other professional staff in general clerical tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications  
The position requires:
  • MUST BE TAKING AT LEAST 6 CREDITS AT NHCC AND BE ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID!!!
  • Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organization skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining student and staff confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficient using the Internet, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must be able to take direction and work apart of a team.
  • Strong ability to connect with students in person and over the phone.
Work Schedule   Scheduling will be determined according to class schedules and to provide adequate front desk coverage, up to 20 hours a week.
Compensation   $10/hour
