Getting your GED (General Education Development Certificate) involves taking a series of tests that are designed to measure the lasting outcome of a high school education. The test measures: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts and Mathematics. All of the questions are multiple choice, except for one part of the writing test, which is an essay. The exams measure the academic skills and knowledge associated with a high school program of study, with an emphasis on the workplace and higher education.
