GED Testing

Please note that the current GED program will be changing soon...

After November 20, 2013, NHCC cannot accept any new registrations for the current GED program.  Candidates who registered before this deadline, must complete their GED testing by December 18, 2013.  Therefore, it is very important to make your testing appointments ASAP!

If you do not complete your testing by December 18, 2013, you will have to start over and register for the new GED program, which will be available in January 2014.

Fees paid toward the current GED program are non-refundable and non-transferable toward the new GED program.  No refunds will be issued.

Getting your GED (General Education Development Certificate) involves taking a series of tests that are designed to measure the lasting outcome of a high school education. The test measures: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts and Mathematics. All of the questions are multiple choice, except for one part of the writing test, which is an essay. The exams measure the academic skills and knowledge associated with a high school program of study, with an emphasis on the workplace and higher education. Additional information is available through the MN Dept of Education, 651-582-8445.
