NHCC Jazz Ensembles and Band Concerts

BUMC Big Band with NHCC Jazz Ensemble

The 18 piece Brooklyn United Methodist Church Big Band (BBB) was founded in 2006 by Brooklyn United Methodist Church music director, Michael Anderson and North Hennepin Community College Jazz Ensemble Director, David Mantini. Originally formed to play big band jazz arrangements of Christian hymn tunes for services, the BBB has expanded to classic, standard and modern jazz charts. The BBB performs dozens of concerts each year in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area and performs regularly for services at Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.  For more information on the band, please visit www.bumc.org and click on the BBB tab.  Free admission

NHCC Concert Band and Robbinsdale City Band Performance

The NHCC Concert Band, under the direction of David Mantini, is pleased to welcome the Robbinsdale City Band (RCB) for a joint concert of marches in March. RCB has been performing for over 100 years and is currently directed by Mike Serber.  RCB plays for a variety of community events, and can been seen at Lake Harriet every summer. NHCC Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band Performance

Join us for an exciting evening of music with the NHCC Jazz Ensemble and Concert Bands. This spring, the Concert Band will feature a special guest, North Hennepin’s own Dr. Kevin Hobbs performing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Dr. Hobbs holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins, BM and MM from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and a DMA from the University of Minnesota.  We look forward to seeing all of you at 7:30 on April 29th for this incredible performance.  Free admission
