The Matchmaker

A well-established merchant from Yonkers, NY of the early 1800’s decides it’s time to take a wife. He employs Dolly Levi, a matchmaker, who then proceeds to get involved with everyone else in his life, except him. This fast paced farce runs headlong into hilarious complication, until eventually, they realize they were meant to be together. This is the play the hit musical Hello Dolly was based on, and it continues to be wonderful entertainment for the entire family.

In Darfur

Based on a true story, In Darfur is the provocative account of three intertwined lives at a camp for internally displaced persons in Darfur. The story follows an aid workers mission to save and protect lives; a journalists pursuit to deliver a “page one” story and a Darfuri woman’s quest for safety. It’s a searing story of urgency and significance as the first case of genocide in this century to be brought before the international community. This production marks the Minnesota premiere of this play.

This suspenseful, high stakes comedy/drama focuses on two high school buddies who share a secret about a mutual girlfriend from their past, a secret that threatens to unravel their friendship. Made into a highly successful film starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman Tape examines questions of loyalty, jealousy, memory, truth and perception.

Based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Ugly Duckling, this award-winning musical comedy tells the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. This production is great fun, and full of memorable characters, and will be sure to become a favorite of the whole family!
