Performing and Visual Arts
The Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Art Gallery has exhibited paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings by artists from the northern Midwest; invitational exhibits; nationally circulating shows, and works from the Walker Art Center permanent collection. The gallery displays six exhibits each academic year including the annual high school art exhibit in February and the annual NHCC student art exhibit in April.
The music department performs a winter and spring choral concert each academic year. The NHCC choral ensembles include the concert choir, community choir and chamber singers (a select group of 12 to 16 musically talented students chosen through auditions).
After nearly a decade, Jazz Ensemble returned to North Hennepin Community College in the Fall of 2009 performing to the delight of many! Under the direction of David Mantini the Jazz Ensemble performs works from a variety of jazz styles including swing, be-bop and cool jazz.
The Theatre Department produces two productions each semester, and whenever possible, also produces a series of student-directed one-acts. Auditions are open to all students regardless of experience
