Performing and Visual Arts
The Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Art Gallery has exhibited paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings by artists from the northern Midwest; invitational exhibits; nationally circulating shows, and works from the Walker Art Center permanent collection. The gallery displays six exhibits each academic year including the annual high school art exhibit in February and the annual NHCC student art exhibit in April.
The music department performs a winter and spring choral concert each academic year. The NHCC choral ensembles include the concert choir, community choir and chamber singers (a select group of 12 to 16 musically talented students chosen through auditions).
The Northstar film project is a student activity class that produces one live action or animated short film/video per semester. Planning, writing, shooting, editing, and mixing it into a finished product for public viewing at the end of the semester.
The Theatre Department produces two productions each semester, and whenever possible, also produces a series of student-directed one-acts. Auditions are open to all students regardless of experience
