Completion Rate Calculation

The Completion Rate is a percentage rate that identifies number of credits earned out of the number of credits attempted at NHCC. Students need to maintain a cumulative completion rate of at least 67% in order to make satisfactory academic progress.

  • Credits earned includes all courses earned at NHCC with a grade of of A, B, C, D, or P.
  • Credits attempted includes all courses taken at NHCC.

To Calculate your Completion Rate:

1. View your transcript. Below your most recent term of attendance, locate the credits earned (Cum Earn) and credits attempted (Cum Att).
2. If you have credits accepted in transfer, subtract the number from credits transfered from the number of earned credits, and from the number of attempted credits.
3. Divide the credits earned by the credits attempted.
4. Move the decimal point 2 spaces to the right to find your completion rate.

Example:

1. Transcript shows - Cum Att: 27.00  Earn 15.00
2. 15 divided by 27 equals .55
3. By moving the decimal point two spaces to the right, the result is 55%
4. In this case 55% is less than the required 67% completion rate, and subject to probation or suspension.
