NHCC is pleased to announce the start of a new weekly support group on campus; Relationships. . . they aren't easy.
Relationships are built on communication. This psycho-educational group will focus on how to enhance your communication skills in a variety of relationship settings. If you want to know how to approach your instructor, have a deeper connection with a significant other or finally talk to your boss about that raise, this group is for you.
Space is limited, sign up now! There is no fee and registration is required. As a participant you will be asked to commit to all 5, 90 minutes sessions beginning Tuesday January 24th, 2012.

Career Counseling
Career counseling helps students:
- Assess interests, skills, values and personality using career assessment tools
- Evaluate career options/make choices
- Discuss career changes/apply transferrable skills to a new career
Available by appointment.
Personal Counseling
Personal counseling helps students:
- Adjust to college life
- Manage stress/test anxiety
- Deal with family/relationship concerns
- Cope with depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns, as they relate to academic success
- Address personal issues affecting ability to stay motivated/focused in college
Available by appointment and on a walk-in emergency basis.
Academic Counseling
Academic counseling helps students:
- Evaluate strengths, weaknesses and career goals
- Choose coursework that is both challenging and manageable
- Navigate degree requirements and transfer information
Available by appointment and on a walk-in basis.
Crisis Counseling
While most counseling sessions are by appointment, counselors are available to assist students in emergency or crisis situations. If you need to speak to someone immediately, contact the Counseling office and indicate that there is an emergency situation. Staff members will locate the first available counselor. If you or another student are in immediate danger (including suicidal behaviors/thoughts), CALL 911.
