Computer Labs
North Hennepin has four computer classrooms (CBT 157, 166, 167 and 169) and one open lab (CBT 168)available for student use. The purpose of the labs is to directly support classroom instruction. Labs are fully equipped with overhead projectors and printers. The computers run the latest versions of various software packages including Microsoft Office, internet browsers and programming languages.
A Macintosh lab with the related Desktop Publishing and Graphic software is available in FAC 119.
In addition, computers for student use are located in the Educational Services lobby, the Learning Resource Center and the Campus Center cafeteria near the television lounge area. Reservations for the LRC spaces should be made through Library staff.
Lab Guidelines

NHCC computers, equipment and supplies are reserved for purposes related to classroom instruction and student coursework.

NHCC reserves the right to limit or restrict computer use. Students using NHCC computers, equipment and supplies are to abide by the following:

Software may only be installed and updated by authorized staff. No software shall be downloaded and/or installed by students.

Use is restricted to classroom related work. Personal or business use is prohibited.

Printing is limited to single copies. Copiers for multiple copies are available in the hallway outside the business area.

Use only paper provided by NHCC.

Please do not have food or drink by computer equipment.

Use is limited to students. Children or non-students may be asked to leave.

Please respect the learning-oriented classroom environment. Disruptive activity is not allowed. Turn off cell phones and pagers, and be courteous to your neighbor. Staff are authorized to ask anyone disruptive to leave the area.

Lab assistants are available for help with equipment and software questions. The following applies:

On-duty lab assistants are identifiable by their red vest. If they are in the lab, but not on duty, please do not ask them for assistance.

Lab assistants do not do homework for students.

Lab assistants are not instructors or private tutors. For tutoring assistance, contact the Tutor Center, the Math Resource Center or the Writing Center.

Lab hours are enforced. Fifteen (15) minutes prior to closing, students are notified of closing time. Students need to finish their project/printing before closing.

Monday-Thursday
7:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Fridays
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturdays
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sundays
12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. *Closed November 26- 29 (Thanksgiving weekend)
Labs are closed when classes are not in session.
