Every summer, NHCC's Youth Academy offers educational and fun opportunities for children ages 6-12. You can register online for the Summer 2010 Youth Academy. It is hosted by the Science Museum of Minnesota at NHCC's campus and will run during the weeks of June 21-24 or July 26-29. Each week includes two class sessions, which are offered in separate segments for 6-8 and 9-12 year olds. The cost is only $185 per child per week.
Spy, Code & Alarm Club
Using math, logic, human behavior and electricity your student will learn how to develop skills to explore top secret information, make espionage gadgets and explore electricity to create ingenious alarms to protect their top secrets stuff.
Blow It Up
Using chemistry & physics students will learn to blow everything from candy to rockets up in a safe and fun environment. They will learn by hands on training how many different chemical reactions work.

Children are supervised from the times they are signed until they are signed out by their parents/guardians.
Registration
The easiest, fastest, and most secure way to register your children for Youth Academy is online. You will receive an instant confirmation at the end of your transaction that you can print for your records.
You may also mail or personally deliver your registration form with payment to North Hennepin Community College, Attention: Admissions and Outreach-Youth Academy, 7411-85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Or you may register and pay over the phone with a credit card by calling Meghan Forestell-Pierson at 763-488-0436.
At the time of registration, please indicate if your children have any medical or special needs and/or any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Registrations will be processed in the order in which they were received. Registrations will not be processed without payment. Space is limited, so register today!
Confirmation
Confirmation letters will be sent in the mail to the address listed on your registration after it has been processed. The letter will include your receipt, directions, and important details about your registered session(s).
Cancellation
All cancellations must be received in writing (letter or email) at least two weeks before the start of camp, wherein a full refund will be issued. Cancellations will be confirmed. Please allow two weeks for your refund to be processed.
You will also be notified by phone and issued a refund if the session(s) you register for is filled or cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Discounts / Scholarships
We are happy to support families with multiple participants. When you register one child at regular price, each additional sibling receives a $20 discount. |
