-
High School Juniors (1/3) must rank in the top third of their high school class or top third nationally on a standardized test.
Students younger than 16 or older than 20 are not eligible for PSEO.
Application Deadline
- The application deadline for the fall semester is July 1 (adjusted to the next business day if this date falls on a weekend).
- The application deadline for spring semester is December 1 (adjusted to the next business day if this date falls on a weekend).
There is no PSEO enrollment during summer session. High school students interested in summer attendance apply for special high school admission.
Application Process
1. Consult with high school counselor
Talk to your high school counselor to make sure you are able to fulfill high school graduation requirements. Your counselor will be able to help you determine if you are eligible, apply for admission, and choose courses that will meet your high school and college goals.
2. Complete the NHCC application process
- NHCC application (PSEO students do not pay the application fee)
- Notice of Student Registration (Mn State form) (Part 1 requires parent/guardian signature if you're under 18; part 2 requires high school official signature.)
-
Official high school transcript or standardized test results (A transcript or standardized test report is only official if it is in a sealed envelope from the school or testing agency. Transcripts must include the most recent semester grades available at the time of application. The test results must be from a test taken no more that 12 months prior to the time of application.)
3. Take placement test
The results of your placement test will help you select classes matched to your skills. Students are required to take the placement tests prior to signing up for the orientation.
4. Complete orientation
Attend an orientation session and receive personal assistance with program information, course selection, and the registration process.
5. Register for classes
After you have completed the steps above, you're ready to register online using your Student ID and PIN. Make sure that you have consulted with your high school counselor about which classes meet your high school graduation requirements before registering.
- PSEO funding does not cover the cost of developmental courses (course numbered below 1000); PSEO students registering for developmental courses are responsible for payment of tuition and fees for these courses.
- PSEO students are restricted from enrolling or paying for courses which have additional fees, such as those charged for Applied Piano, Digital Photography, Golf, etc.)
6. Pick up/charge books
The Bookstore schedules days for PSEO students to charge books Remember to bring a copy of your class schedule and your NHCC student ID to charge books
