This option is designed for graduates from Practical Nursing programs approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing or the approving agency in other states. It builds on the foundation provided in the practical nursing curriculum. The major difference between this option and the pathway through the standard Associate Degree Nursing Program is the replacement of first-year nursing courses with a single transition course in the summer for 5 weeks.
Also see prerequisites for all nursing programs applicants. Additional prerequisites for the mobility option: 1. Be a graduate, (or pending graduation by August 15) of a state-approved practical nursing program. 2. Be licensed as a practical nurse, active status or pending licensure by August 15. 3. The following general education courses must be completed prior to the Nursing Transition Course (summer): Biol 1001, Biol 2100, Biol 2111, Biol 2112, Spch 1110, and Psyc 1150. Engl 1201 and Soc 1110 must be completed prior to graduation. |
