General Information

Designed to prepare graduates to administer safe, patient-centered nursing care in hospitals, home settings, nursing home, clinics and other healthcare facilities, the Associate Degree in Registered Nursing opens the door to a challenging and rewarding healthcare career.

Program Description

The Nursing Program is designed to provide correlation between classroom content and laboratory/clinical sessions. Nursing courses include theory classes, on campus laboratories, and clinical experiences.

Classes will be held at North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) in Brooklyn Park. Clinical instruction in nursing will occur under the guidance of College nursing faculty.

Enrollment in this program is limited and has an average completion rate of 83%. The overall passage rate of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses for NHCC graduates is 97.4% for 2007-2008.

Upon acceptance and completion of the Nursing Program at NHCC, you will be qualified for recommendation to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. If you have any questions regard licensure, contact the Minnesota Board of Nursing directly at 612-617-2270.

Program Cost

For 2009-2010 tuition rates per semester are:

  • General Education Credits $158.30 per credit
  • Nursing Course (Nurs) Credits $179.40 per credit

Total estimated direct costs of the program, including tuition, fees, books and equipment is approximately $12,000.
