Step 5: Take Action to Achieve Your

The final step in the job search process is taking action to achieve your career goals. It involves preparing your marketing materials, searching for jobs, interviewing, and following up with potential employers. As we learned in Step 2, the job search process is not a linear process. You will likely be working on the activities in various steps at the same time.

Conducting a job search is a full-time effort. To be successful, it is important to have support. You can find support at your local workforce center, working with a career coach, and attending job search support groups and networking groups. 

There are a multitude of online resources for job seekers. These sites have a wealth of information to help you through each step of the job search process.

MinnesotaWorks.net is an online resume and job matching system that uses advanced technology to provide a faster and easier way to find that perfect job in Minnesota.

SimplyHired allows you to search millions of job listings across the web.  You can also set up alerts to receive new matching jobs by email.

Resources for Job Seekers Over Age 40

Encore Careers combine personal fulfillment, social impact and continued income, enabling people to put their passion to work for the greater good.

Experience Works is a national, charitable, community-based organization that helps older adults get the training they need to find good jobs in their communities.

SHiFT is a network that supports people in mid-life transitions who seek greater meaning in life and work.

Resource for the Unemployed
