Students To Achieve Rewarding Success
***NHCC's STARS program is currently being redesigned.***
STARS is a 1-week scholarship program during the summer for students entering 7th or 8th grade who are nominated by a teacher or guidance counselor at their school. This is a thematic, week-long workshop that explores a collegiate academic discipline. STARS focuses on applicable learning in a college environment, providing additional educational opportunities and promoting the goal of attending college.
Past themes have been CSI - focusing on Science; We Built This City - focusing on Ecology & Geography; The Apprentice - focusing on Business; Star Search - focusing on Theater; and Law & Order - focusing on Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement investigation.
The theme in Summer 2013 was STARS: Law & Order - focusing on law and criminal investigation. STARS was held the mornings of July 15-19 (Monday-Friday) on NHCC's campus, and was facilitated by the Admissions & Outreach office and NHCC Sociology faculty.
Please contact Sean Olson, Interim Director of Admissions & Outreach, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 763-488-0491 with questions or to recommend a student for STARS.
