As the obesity epidemic grows, both adults and children will need increasing contact with professionals who can help them develop lifelong routines for exercise, nutrition, and stress management. Your enjoyment of physical exercise and games can motivate others to get active and stay healthy.

At NHCC, you can learn about lifetime wellness activities, nutrition patterns, stress reduction techniques, personal safety practices for exercise regimes, the influence of cultural diversity, and how to identify and analyze the muscles used in movement.

In addition, NHCC has a partnership with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a global leader in certifications and advanced credentials for health and fitness professionals and the preferred choice of top health clubs and fitness facilities around the world.

The new Fitness A.S. program is designed to transfer into baccalaureate programs and prepares students for a range of careers in fitness from clinical testing, physical therapy, and cardiac rehabilitation, to corporate fitness, sports management, and personal training.

In the Physical Education A.S. program, students learn the fundamentals of physical education while preparing to transfer to a four-year degree program to teach and coach in K-12 schools.

The Personal Training Certificate program prepares students for careers as fitness specialists, athletic trainers, and personal trainers.
