1. Describe your interest in your NHCC major/program and how it relates to your future goals.

• What are your employment or career goals and how do they relate to your major/program?
• What accomplishments have you achieved related to your major?

2. Describe any life experiences that have influenced your personal growth.   

When preparing your personal statement, you may wish to consider:
• Who or what in your past has most influenced your educational and career goals and how?
• What difficulties or challenges, if any, have you experienced, and how have you overcome those challenges in order to pursue your academic, career, and personal goals?
• The NHCC Alan LePage Scholarship is awarded to a student whose life has been impacted by alcohol abuse or chemical abuse. If this applies to you, check the box below, and use this space to describe the impact alcohol abuse or chemical abuse has had on your life and how the receipt of a scholarship may help you reach your goals.

• How would receiving a NHCC Foundation scholarship benefit you?
• Once accomplishing your goals, how do you see yourself giving back to society?
• The NHCC Alton B. Scholarship is awarded to a student who provides direct care for someone (including a sibling or child) with a developmental disability or delay. If this applies to you, check the appropriate box below and use this space to describe your experiences providing such care and how it has impacted your life.
• The NHCC Jerry and Beth Sandvick Baccalaureate Scholarship is awarded to a NHCC graduate who is pursuing a four-year degree. If this applies to you, check the appropriate box below, and use this space to describe how your experience at NHCC changed your outlook on a subject or problem. Include your academic achievements, your perception of higher education, and your plans to contribute back to society.
