Application review
After the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is reviewed by the Federal processor, students receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR will be sent via email if an email address was provided on the FAFSA, or via regular mail if no email address was listed on the FAFSA.
Review the SAR for errors, missed signatures, and to confirm that NHCC's school code (002370) is listed. Correct any errors on the SAR here. If NHCC's school code was listed on the FAFSA, the college will also receive a copy of the SAR at approximately the same time.
If NHCC needs additional information to begin reviewing the application, notification is sent to the student via email and regular mail. Most students need to provide additional documents. Examples of additional documents that might be requested include: Federal tax returns, W2’s, college transcripts, MN residency information, etc. After all requested information is reviewed, an award letter is sent to the student.
