Stafford Loan Application

Before you apply for a loan, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and wait to receive an award notice from NHCC. The award notice will indicate the type and amount of loan that you are eligible to receive. 

To be eligible for a Stafford loan, you must be registered for at least six credit hours.

Think about what your repayment obligation means before you take out a loan. If you do not repay the loan according to the terms of the promissory note you may go into loan default which has serious consequences that will affect your credit rating. You do not have to borrow the maximum amount listed on your award letter. We recommend you borrow only what you need to pay for school.
