Take placement test(s)

A computerized placement test, ACCUPLACER, is required of new students who are seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate at North Hennepin Community College. This test is part of placement for student success. The results of the test provide you with an accurate course placement based on current skills for reading comprehension, English and math.  No fee is required.

Friday ~ No testing available

Placement testing is by appointment only. To schedule:

The Placement Test may be waived based upon:

  • A transcript or grade report showing a grade of "C" or higher in a college-level English composition course and/or a college-level algebra course.
  • A transcript or grade report showing A grade of "C" or higher in general education, reading intensive courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Biology or Sociology.
  • ACT subscore* of 24 or higher in math, English or reading.
  • ACCUPLACER test results* from another college.

*Note: ACT report or previous placement test results cannot be older than three years for English and two years for math.

Placement Testing in Buffalo

Placement testing is offered at Buffalo High School at 6:00pm on

  • Thursday, August 7

Call 763-424-0730 to reserve a spot in Buffalo. Space is limited to 30 testers.

Driving directions to Buffalo High School. Enter Buffalo High School through the left doors of the main entrance. Testing is located in the computer labs on the 2nd floor.
