The NHCC Foundation hosts a number of fund-raising and recognition events throughout the year in support of scholarships for students at North Hennepin. This past year's annual dinner auction "Up North" was a huge success! Other events include:

2010 Dinner Auction (April 23, 2010)
Dinner Auction
The dinner auction is the largest fund-raiser for the student scholarships. Guests will enjoy a themed evening (they are encouraged to dress for the theme) filled with silent and live items to bid on, entertainment and a fine dining experience. This event brings together community leaders to celebrate North Hennepin Community College – their “Community’s College.” This year’s event will take place April 23rd, at Earle Brown Heritage Center. Breakfast with the President
NHCC President, Ann Wynia hosts a monthly breakfast with community leaders, employers and faculty to discuss college initiatives, to receive feedback on specific programs and workforce concerns and to communicate that we are the “Community’s College.”
Medallion Dinner
The NHCC Foundation Board of Directors hosts this event to recognize the integrity, innovation and excellence in education. Awards are given to the recipients of the Presidential Medallion, Distinguished Alumni, Professor Emeritus, Excellence in Education, Excellence in Service and the Educator of the Year. Staff and faculty retiring and those with 15 years of service are recognized for their service and commitment.
Retiree Luncheon
The NHCC Foundation Board of Directors hosts this event. They welcome retirees back to campus – to catch up and socialize, enjoy a luncheon and to attend the theater showing of “The Book of Liz,” put on by NHCC Theater Department.
Evans-Nordby Lectureship
This year's fifteenth annual lectureship will be held on December 8th, 2008 at NHCC's in the Fine Arts Center. Mr. Richard Obershaw and the NHCC Foundation invited all to come out to experience an evening filled with with humor and to share important life lessons on "Coping with Holiday Grief".Richard Obershaw is the Founder and Director of the 33-year-old Grief Center in the Twin Cities. He has been a leader in the field of therapy for over 35 years and has lectured in 42 states.
This lectureship was created by Charlotte and Keith Nordby of the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in partnership with the NHCC Foundation since 1993. Click here to register!
Scholarship Luncheon
The Scholarship luncheon, hosted by the NHCC Foundation Board of Directors brings the scholarship recipients together to honor and congratulate them. They also invite the donor to say “Thank you” and celebrate the difference they are making in student’s lives. |
